CFMoto develops and produces motorbikes, scooters, engines for shipping and other sectors but is currently leading the way mainly as a manufacturer of ATVs. Founded in 1989, the brand was allowed to celebrate its 30th anniversary as China's largest exporter of ATVs with an annual production capacity of more than 600,000 vehicles. These are distributed by more than 2,000 partners in more than 100 countries. As of 2018, CFMoto is the market leader in Europe, very much ahead of the competition.

Already in 2011, cooperation was established with KTM in technological developments, production systems, supply chain management and distribution. As part of the joint venture signed by the two brands in 2017 under the name CFMOTO-KTMR2R, new business premises covering almost 140,000 m² were set up, including a production base, a test track, an R & D centre and test and sales centres.
